Earlier this year, Ecolab’s Bioquell HPV-AQ 35% hydrogen peroxide disinfectant received an approval opinion from the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) Biocidal Products Committee (BPC) for a Union Authorisation.
We are pleased to communicate that the approval has been officially published in the Official Journal of the European Union and thus written into European law, Biocidal Products Regulation (BPR, Regulation (EU) 528/2012), with Bioquell HPV-AQ given the approval number EU-0027469-0000.
Ecolab’s Bioquell HPV-AQ is authorised for use in all territories of the European Union and the European Economic Area. Recognition of the authorisation in Switzerland has also been requested and is anticipated imminently.
The authorisation supports the use of Bioquell HPV-AQ in applications under:
The authorisation covers the use of the product with Bioquell vaporisation systems in small enclosures (0.25m3 to 4m3) and in large enclosures (>4m3), with efficacy claims against the following groups of microbiological organisms:
The comprehensive Union Authorisation for Bioquell HPV-AQ has been designed to ensure that the vast majority, if not all, of our existing customer processes and use scenarios are covered under the authorisation.
Ecolab recommends that users review all disinfectant products within their facility and speak to their suppliers, to ensure their use scenarios for those products will be covered by the supplier’s BPR application.
